I could not find this coin in RG, Von Aulock, BMC or isegrim. I am wondering if anybody ran across this coin before and I am curious to hear some insight on the reverse figure. I am wondering if it can be a maenad.

Bythinia, Tium. Julia Paula, wife of Elagabalus AD 218-222, AE 27mm (8.55g)
[IOV KOP] ΠAVΛA CEB; Draped bust left, holding poppy
[T]IANΩN; Female figure standing left, holding up object, bunch of grapes in l. hand
RG - ; SNG Von Aulock - ; Isegrim

Regards
Gert

I think the rev.  shows Isis with sistrum in raised r. hand and situla in lowered l. hand, wearing a Lotus blossom on her head. Usually she should have an Isis knot on her breast. But on your coin it is hardly to see.

I have added a pic from the famous Isis statue found in the Villa Adriana. It is your type. The difference: Here Isis is wearing a throne on her head, which is here name in hieroglyphics and was so written too. May be that it is a throne on your coin too?

Best regards

Yes, this is Isis.  I have one of lesser grade in my Bithynian photofile for comparison.  It appears to be unpublished in the standard references.
