Are the branches slanted?
« on: January 01, 2009, 10:22:55 am »
I am pretty sure that this coin is RIC VIII Rome 95,but the palm branches do not look slanted to me. Any examples of this type?
Thanks in advance.

Looks a bit more like 2 Victories holding wreaths with a palm branch inbetween as in this one.

Guess I should have looked up RIC 95 from Rome....You have the right type ok.  And from the picture it is certainly possible it is 2 palm branches.  The angles are not terribly important as there is little room to angle them very much.  If there are indeed two palm branches, then RIC 95 is likely.
