References for Barbaric Coins?
« on: September 10, 2004, 04:28:41 pm »
This may be a foolish question, but Are there any references on barbaric coins?

In particular I would like to get a feel for the history and the value of these coins.  They seem to be pretty common and I would assume that someone must have done a study of at least a few types by now.

Thanks,
Robert

Here is a web page with some good info and there is a link to references for further reading.

Thanks Vic9128, the web pages were quite helpful.

It looks like the area of Barbaric imitations is an area ripe for study.  From what I could tell there are no real good references on this subject, other that various journal articals and may of them are becoming outdated.

Thanks,
Robert
