Help ID Roman Medal

This medal measures 33.5 mm.  There is before the head a symbol like a P pasted to an E ( :NPE:). There is a legend but it is illegible. On the reverse there is not anything.

The edge reminds me of a contorniate.  :-\

Yes, surely a contorniate.

PE monogram is one of the commonest countermarks on contorniates.

Portrait might be Nero, the commonest obv. type on contorniates.
