Constantius RIC please
mwilson603:
Hi All,
I did post this as half cleaned a while ago and unfortunately the dreaded hard drive crash has lost the the help you gave me. (I have just bought a 320GB external hard drive for backups so that should not happen again!) I think at the time you pointed me towards Constantius as the legend had lot's of hard deposit over it. Obviously now it is clean, possibly even overclean, the legend is very readable.
However, I cannot find the coin online at all. I can find similar from Ticinum, RIC 55a for exam-ple, but not one from Aquileia. The mint mark on this one is AQS.
OBV legend is CONSTANTIVSAVG, and REV legend is FIDESMILITVM.
Any help would be great.
regards
Mark

Should also say that the size is 28mm
jbaran:
RIC 59a from Aquileia. Struck 305-6. Common

Thanks very much jbaran. I couldn't find it online anywhere :(
Heliodromus:
Although RIC rates this as common, in fact it really seems to be quite scarce from Aquileia - it's more commn to find this type from Ticinum (another Severus II mint), and the related Fides Militivm Avgg Et Caess from Aquileia.
