(1/2) > >>

Amelia B:
Hi, I would like to identify the following prutah. I don't know whether it is from John Hyrcanus I, Judah Aristobulus I or any other candidate. Many thanks. 1,5 gr. 14,5 mm

Amelia B:

Amelia B:
Any idea folks? thanks

Jochen:
Nice coin, completly readable:

NWHY
HKH NT
(Ch) LWDGH
DY RB
MY

Yehonatan (= Alexander Jannaeus), Meshorer TJC Q16

Best regards
Jochen

Amelia B:
Thank you very much Jochen! I really appreciate the identification.

As you say, it is readable, but even that way it is impossible for me to relate this coin with an example of Alexander Jannaeus, for me both legends don't match at all  :-\

I definitely have to learn much more on this subject. Is there any place where I can find a close example of the legend shown on my coin but simplified so I can understand every caracter?

Thanks
