Augustus

(1/1)

AlfaOmega:
Hi,
I have this Augustus ae25 with the reverse I believe the AVGUSTUS legend.
I have a problem with classifying it.
If it were RPC 2231 the legend would be AUGU-STVS on two lines.
If it were RPC 2235 the legend would be AUGUSTVS on a line.
I think this ends the first line with a T. It could be another type, but I have not found anything.
I kindly ask for a suggestion.

Meepzorp:
Hi AO,

It may be a barbarous imitation with a bungled legend.

Here is my official example (last coin):

Here is my barbarous imitation (last coin):

Thanks,
it seems to me that at least the reverse is done well to be a barbaric issue.
