Thanks, Steve!
Many more Roman Republicans to follow, if I can find the time and energy and balance to post.   (Balance = I can't hold a coin, Crawford RRC, a glass of wine, and type at the same time, although three would be fine... heck, two out of three ain't bad.)
Plus, some of my favorite coins came into my life at shows and I do not have dealer photos, adding another task to each post.

This is a very nice gallery illustrating a very fine and well balanced collection of Roman Republican coins. The collection looks just like mine did a decade or two ago. Lovely. I really appreciate your interest in Republican struck bronzes, you have a fine set.

Thank you, Andrew.   Were it not for your website, which I consult on nearly every type, and your contributions to the literature, the series would be far less accessible and far less understood.  I probably would have focused elsewhere without such a resource.

I only wish I had gotten started a decade earlier.  I regret never meeting RBW, some of whose friends I now have as acquaintances, and experiencing other great Republican collections first hand.

And thank you to my other Forum friends for your kind remarks and shrewd comments on the coins.

A very nice, well-rounded, group of additions, PMah, which I've just now (finally!) had time to review.  Well done.

I need to get back to my own gallery, but I've been too busy with work etc. Will try to add some coins soon.

I added another 10 Roman Republic coins, and then subtracted three entries that were duplicated, suggesting strongly that I should go to bed.

There are a few pretty ones and some a bit rare-ish.

I added nine Roman Republic coins today, mostly "meh", but including a Plaetoria "SORS" denarius in typical awful shape, and a Drachm/Half-Quadrigatus in very nice condition, both a bit rare.

I was hoping to be more ambitious about posting, but 10 seems to be a nightly limit.  I have some nice early bronze to post, which I will prioritize.

I added an additional 14 Roman Republic coins to this gallery today.  Of some interest:  Sextans from each of Cr 63/6, 64/6, 65/6, which are parts of issues from Sardinia by the known Praetors assigned there for the years 211-209 b.c.e., thus, with the quinarii in each issue, narrowing or even pinning the date of the introduction of the denarius system.
Also posted, a struck Uncia of the enigmatic Cr 39 types, with a groovy Sol and unusual reverse of crescent moon and stars, which I view as a last burst of creativity on the bronze for many years. This specimen is ex RBW and McCabe.
The types of the Cr 39 issue are creatively varied in a distinct style from cast or struck issues anywhere near the presumed issue date, and there is no clearly-corresponding heavy cast coins for the As or Semis; all the "neighboring" series being accounted for with more readily-associated cast and struck pieces.  I have the rest of the types, but some need much better photos, as they are (typically) rather worn.   (Although we don't discuss current pricing, I will note that RBW's envelope indicates he paid $410 in 1994 for this coin, suggesting it was rather tricky to find then in nice condition, even for him.)

I have posted 15 Roman Republic bronze acquisitions to my gallery, up to c. 209 b.c.e.  One cast Aes Grave that is much better in hand with a bit of not-yet-locked-down pedigree.
Some of the others are nice, but it is a bit hard to discern the qualities of these small brown/green bits of metal.  Most of this group are rather scarce, but not astonishingly rare, with perhaps one exception that is pretty rare.

(How's that for a lede that screams "Wow, that sounds really exciting!  Brew some more coffee so I can stay up late!!"

Still trying to catch up...

Thanks, Joe, I keep plugging away at uploading, but I certainly have made little significant progress.  Lately my main criteria has been whether I can find a double-photo while I have the uploading page open!  I see I am up to over 200 posted coins, but there's a multiple of that number to go just from my Republic collection.  And they keep on showing up in the mail.... and I keep going to work rather than playing with the collection

Ten Roman Republic coins posted to my gallery tonight, mostly denarii.  Nothing to write home about, just items where the photos and notes were in synch, but one item is pretty nice:  the Cr 428/1 AR Denarius Q. Cassius Longinus, and the Cr 113/1 AR Denarius [Star] is interesting to me.

I am working on a large group of extremely smudgy bronze issues, but time is not on my side this COVID era.  My last update was late July!

Be well everyone.

Very nice batch there.   I especially like the toning on the Piso.  I am going g to have to come back and study them all when I am not just looking in my iPhone.

I have also added seven "Aes Grave" or cast Roman Republican bronze pieces, to my gallery today.  Some are rather nice for the series, others have seen a lot of history.  These coins are very difficult to photograph, as they have uneven thickness, high relief on the nicer ones, and often rather worn or soft-cast, so I apologize in advance.
Tips on photographing cast coins would be greatly appreciated.

I also added another "Aes Grave", my Crawford 25/7 "Sickle" Quadrans to join my posted Cr 25/3 Litra, both ex-RBW.  I wish both photos were better.  I am not a pedigree fanatic, but...
NAC Auction 61 (RBW Collection): lot 23; NAC Auction 7, 1994 (purchased by RBW): lot 342; RBW Collection 44 (this coin) (Russo, McCabe, et al, eds., Zurich 2013).

Everyone seems to be updating their galleries these days, and why not join the fun, I ask?  ('Cause it's a ton of work, I answer ...)  But I did get around to posting about a dozen coins, not necessarily new acquisitions.

There's "something for everyone" . . . as long as everyone likes early Roman Republican cast bronze and late Republic silver.

(Some day, some day, I will post some of my Julio-Claudians...)

Last update was in October and fortunately my familia has remained healthy in the interim; I hope the same for you and yours.

After a hiatus since June, I both solved the technical issue that frustrated my last uploads, and posted five coins, mostly struck bronze that are somewhat scarce, if not particularly exciting.  However, Sicinius and Coponius are now duly immortalized.

Good Morning Paul,

Love that Sicinius denarius. Great write-up, and the reference to a "Bill the Cat" reverse is priceless. I really enjoy well placed wit when reading write-ups. Oh, and you can't go wrong with a Pompeian, or would that be a "Pompeian coin"?

Be well,

Tracy

Thank you all for supportive comments.  As a recent "graduate " of the ANS coin photography webinar series (indeed, I have a certificate!) , perhaps I will soon be able to upgrade some of my smudgy brown coin photos to high-resolution smudgy brown coin photos.
