Ave!

Ring, Byzantine Era, with Tau Cross intaglio, 7th-10th Century

Copper alloy; 2.3gm, Ring size 7 1/2

The Tau-shaped cross is also known as St Anthony's Cross and represents the shape of the crucifixion cross of Jesus Christ. As to who wore this ring 1,000 years ago is moot. Possibly a priest or a penitent on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land?
