A new rev. type?

Macrinus, AD 217-218
AE 27, 11.16g, 0°
struck under Claudius Marcus Agrippa
obv. AV K OPPEL CEOV - HROC MAKRINOC
        Head, laureate, r.
rev. VP AGRIPA NIKO - POLITWN PROC IC
Homonoia, in long garment and mantle, stg. l., holding cornucopiae and patera
ref. a) AMNG I/1, 1704 (2 ex., Berlin, Paris)
      b) Varbanov (engl.) 3334 (cites AMNG 1705 but the description matches AMNG
           1704)
      c) Hristova/Jekov No.8.23.36.2 var.(?)
H/J doesn't mention the kalathos, and the pic doesn't show it. But I think the
reason is the worn coin. So I think it is a correction only.

Indeed, this is new, not in AMNG or in HrJ.  Would you like to put it in the Album, complementary to this list, containing only the small, anonymous (no governor's name) coins? http://picasaweb.google.com/slokind/STUDYNicopolisCoppersSmallBrass#
The idea is that the small ones are a class apart, and an album where they can be compared with one another can be useful.
Your little 'small brass' Artemis is rare, I think.

@ Pat:
I will put it in the Picasa album, but let me first produce better images.

@Jochen:
Can you confirm that it is not in Hr+J? I think so, but had never the opportunity to look myself.

Hi Helcaraxe!

You are right, it is not in Hristova/Jekov. I have added the legends. Nice find.

Best regards
