Corinthian Stater
« on: June 03, 2009, 10:44:57 am »
Just been on ebay and this coin caught my eye. What do you guys think to it? To me at first it seems to be a cast (looking at the wings of pegasus) but the more I look at it the less sure I become as the detail elsewhere on the coin seems quite sharp. Could it be a high end cast or am I justy seeing fakes where there are none? Regards Adrian

Not in Forum´s fake reports.

My first impression: looks ok (but i prefer to examine such coins in my hands or buy from personally known reputated dealers).

Lovely in hands, just received it  8)

Same reverse die as Ravel 574 (thanks Joe for the great book ;) ).

The only small problem with it (for me at least) is that it look like it has been waxed. Heresy !
