Mintmark of Antoninus Pius!
« on: January 21, 2023, 08:42:01 am »

AE 22,  5.80g.

Head of Antoninus Pius(?) right / Female standing facing.

Can anyone make out the mintmark of this coin?

Thank you in advance.

At the time of Antoninus, mintmarks were not yet common.

It is too small and too light to be an as from the mint of Rome, so it probably is a provincial. Since very little of the text has remained, it will be a near impossible task to pin it down to a certain mint.
