« on: September 23, 2022, 02:40:40 pm »
Small coin in a 18k gold pendant.
.
Total weight 3,90 grams and coin diameter 1,30 cm ~ 0,51 in.
.
Coin non magnetic.
.
It's a genuine greek coin or an imitation for jewelery purpose?
.
Thanks for any help!

This seems to be a modern piece, mixing on the obverse the Herakles of Alexander III's silver coins, e.g. like this one: http://numismatics.org/pella/id/price.146
and on the reverse a bow and club from quarter staters made of gold: http://numismatics.org/pella/id/price.176A

There is no genuine coin with exactly this combination :-\.

Thanks for your response Altamura.

Thats a red flag! But is it possible through tests to have 100% reliable results about the genuineness or not of a coin? Like for new unregistered coins or mint errors...

I would pay to be sure.
