Alexandria Tetradrachm

Got this one recently, I'm not very familiar with this type of coins but I guess it should be of Salonina. I think it has just been overcleaned but I'm not sure, could be a fake. Opinions? Thanks!

the circle at the edge says that it is cast fake, better add a photo for the edge too.

Hello Salem! Thanks for your reply. Here's some pics of the edge, it doesn't say much to me, maybe it will to you.

The second pic looks like it has a seam. That would give it away

Imagine a bar of soap made to resemble a coin (a large novelty soap coin replica).  You put it on your sink as a decorative item in the guest bath.  But you run out of Irish Spring, so you use your fancy coin soap for a few baths.  Imagine what the bar of soap would look like then.

Now take another look at the coin above.

This is one way of detecting cast fakes.  The soapy look on this one is particularly evident.

The coin was in a lot were about half of the coins were very worn and severely overcleaned. I thought this one has had the same treatment. The seam didn't seem regular enough to me to be a definite remnant of casting. Anyway, not a big lost. I will post it in the fake reports. Thanks all.
