Greek bronze Apollo / kantharos
« on: May 04, 2013, 12:50:37 am »
Hello,

Æ 13 (12-13 mm / 2,20 g), bronze, axes medal alignment ↑↑ (ca. 0°),
Obv.: laureate head of Apollo(?) facing right.
Rev.: […AK- / NV-?]MAIΩN , legend around kantharos on baseline.
online databases - .

Where is a searchable list of Greek city names? www.ancientcoins.biz/id/ seems to be offline or gone.

Thanks

 :)

Have you checked with Alopekonnesos?

Ok, fine. I trust you can read what you said since you have the coin in hand.
In that case the closest I came to is Lebedos as Ptolemais.
Laurated head of Apollo r/ Amphora
ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΩΝ. Von Aulock 2026.
Unfortunately I don't have the book to compare the coins.

But I assume you have checked with it already. ;)
