We have all seen the provincial coins with Tyche on one side, well here is a modern medallion that has the modern version of Tyche.

Who minted it, and why? One of these days I'll fall for these medallions, I've often been tempted.

It was minted for a convention of French Architects.  It is still up for sale, I ran across it while hunting for something else.

WOW! A modern medal that actually looks nice. I'm impressed.

Believe it or not, I saw a medal that was made of concrete and when the artist was told to describe which side he wanted displayed, obverse or reverse, he wrote "free standing, as a sculpture".  :( Its things like this that make me dislike (modern) art.

Actually what the artist said makes sense. If you made the concrete 'free standing'  on edge, people could walk around it and see both sides. Why just see one side, unless the other side is of it is blank or not of interest.
