Another new addition.

LYDIAN KINGDOM. Croesus or later (ca. after 561 BC). AR half-stater or siglos (15mm, 5.35 gm). NGC VF 4/5 - 3/5. Sardes. Confronted foreparts of lion right and bull left, both with outstretched foreleg / Two square punches side by side with irregular interior surfaces. SNG Kayhan 1025. SNG von Aulock 2877. Berk, 100 Greatest Ancient Coins, 9.23.

Corinth. Ca. 4th century BC. AR stater (24mm, 8.50 gm, 7h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5, light scratch. Ca. 345-307 BC. Pegasus flying left; ? below / Head of Athena left, wearing necklace and Corinthian helmet pushed back on head; astragalus behind. BCD Corinth -. Pegasi 400. Ravel 1039.

 +++  A magnificent example.  Best-in-show.

All the devices on-flan and nicely detailed. I particularly like the light iridescent toning.

You’ve provided me with an excuse to crack open my new(ish) copy of Calciati’s Pegasi, vol I. It’s in Italian and English, and has some odd punctuation, and I am still puzzled by some of the abbreviations (e.g., Sic. and Or.). The reference to Pegasi #400 is accurate. In fact, there appear three entries for #400, one with the A monogram on the reverse (no photo), the next a reverse without the A, and the third a reverse that is a mule #401 also without the A.

CILICIA. Soloi. Balacros, as Satrap (ca. 333-323 BC). AR stater (24mm, 6h). NGC Choice XF, scratches. Baaltars seated left on backless throne, scepter surmounted by lotus in right hand; grain ear and grape bunch in left field, B in right field, Σ below strut / Draped bust of Athena facing, turned slightly left, wearing triple-crested helmet and necklace. SNG France 2, 197. SNG von Aulock 5873 var. (field marks).

THRACE. Byzantium. Ca. late 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (35mm, 11h). NGC VF. Name and types of Lysimachus of Thrace. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, wearing horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, Nike in right hand crowning royal name, left arm leaning on large grounded shield, transverse spear in background; MT monogram in inner left field, BY under seat, filleted trident left below ground line. Müller 168.

Diademed bust of Mithradates III left, wearing tiara decorated with star / BAΣIΛEΩΣ-MEΓAΛOY-APΣAKOY-ΦIΛOΠATOPOΣ-AYTOKPATOΣ-EΠΙΦANOΣ-ΦIΛEΛΛHNOΣ, Archer (Arsaces I) seated right on throne, holding bow outward. Sellwood 31.5 (Orodes I).

SELEUCID KINGDOM. Antiochus VII Euergetes (Sidetes) (138-129 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 16.44 gm, 11h). XF. Antioch on the Orontes. Diademed head of Antiochus VII right, diadem ends falling straight behind; bead-and-reel border / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ANTIOXOY / EYEP-ΓETOY, Athena standing facing, head left, resting left hand on grounded shield decorated with gorgoneion, spear resting against arm, Nike in right hand extending wreath into border; ΔI monogram above A in outer left field, A in inner right field, all within laurel wreath. SC 2061.4f var. (reengraved control).

Note - the A in the right field has been recut over another letter, which appears to be an X or something similar.
