From the size, it's a penny. Little can be deduced from the obverse, as you say, other than it's an English penny with a crowned bust facing. Likely 15th-16th century. From the reverse, I'll cite the one diagnostic device I can discern: the central device in the long cross is a pellet in quatrefoil, thus minted in York. That happens to resemble my Henry IV penny of York, though it could also be a coin for Edward III-IV, Richard II, or Henry V-VI, whose pennies were minted at York with the central quatrefoil.

Może między awersem a rewersem była jakaś impreza w mennicy (wiem, wyjaśnienie dość banalne, ale chyba nie zawsze nieprawdziwe).

Niewykluczone, tyle że jak komuś tak się wybór literek plątał, to powinien je też zacząć krzywo stawiać. A tu oba napisy są mniej więcej tak samo proste :-)

Trzeba jednak przyznać, że ich turborumunizm ma większe oparcie w faktach (mocno naciągane, ale jednak jakieś ma) niż to, co wymyślają nasi turbosłowianie.

Tak, ale z drugiej strony jak się popatrzy na wszędobylskość rozmaitego turborumuństwa, to z pewnością wyprzedzają nas znacznie w wyciskaniu ilości produktów z jednego mniej lub bardziej naciągniętego faktu historycznego/legendy :-) U nas to jest mimo wszystko zupełny margines - paru tfurców, jedno czy dwa wydawnictwa, parę kanałów YT i skupione koło nich niespecjalnie chyba liczne kółka miłośników (i to wydaje mi się, że znacznie mniej aktywne niż parę lat temu). A tam to jest na poziomie państwowym - od przywracania nieużywanych od 1750 lat łacińskich nazw miast przez reromanizację języka, pomniki, ciężkie do obejrzenia filmy, programy szkolne po oficjalną wykładnię dla przewodników turystycznych. Na dodatek trwa to niezależnie od ustroju od półtora wieku, więc niezależnie od jakości zdołało się całkiem nieźle zakorzenić.
