Ratto, Arichis II
« on: July 15, 2022, 05:07:25 am »
Hello,

The auction house NAC says this coin is the Ratto sale's 1930 n°2394 but i observe minor differences. The photos can create some illusions for the same coin but for example the letter R of VICTIRA is not with the same leg as the copy from the book (reprint 1974)
Your opinon?

another thing, do you have any trace of modern photos for Ratto coins?

I believe it is the same coin. Don’t forget Flav, plaster casts have long been used in numismatic catalogs; it’s possible it is the case here.

It make boring when we work on coins and are just looking at a plaster cast... Working on specific little elements for example, that appear distorded on cast.
