An Alex from Western Asia Minor. Does anyone know more ?
« on: December 28, 2021, 07:33:35 am »
Hi Everyone !

Following coin is a bronze one of 19-20 mm, about 5,5 grams. Obverse obviously Alex / Herakles. On reverse the bow/quiver, Herakles' club and race torch (?). Only one legend at reverse which simply spells BASILEOS. Can anybody help on approximate age and city/ state ?

THANKS

With a torch it is Price 2799: http://numismatics.org/pella/id/price.2799
Price dates it to c. 323 - c. 310 BC and describes it under the headline "Uncertain Bronze mainly from Western Asia Minor".
