Can't load a profile pic

Every time I try and add a pic to my profile no matter how big or small it is, I keep getting this notice.

The avatar you have selected is too large, or not an avatar.

*Alex:
The maximum allowed size for avatars are 85 x 200 pixels.

Might not make a difference but make sure you upload a .jpg image. I think I had problems with a .png.

ill try to see how many pixels it is and see about shrinking it.    Its already a Jpeg
