New fakes added to the reports
« on: March 19, 2008, 11:28:45 am »
I have been adding another batch of fakes to the reports. This time from doublevision.81. The fakes should be easily spotted by most but there are a couple of items in there that are either interesting or might catch the unwary (read as blinded by greed). The seller does not claim the coins are genuine but states "As we are not numismatics we can not offer you document of authenticy.".

All the coins are in the fake reports. Selected highlights:-

A Valerian I denarius:-

A Galeria Valeria silver piece which is interest since it is produced from the same dies as a gold example that was withdrawn by CNG in 2005.

CNG example:-

Martin

On the obverse for the Valerian, is the lighter area below the bust where the word "Fake" was scratched off?
