Scythian?
« on: October 22, 2021, 10:23:56 am »
It seems like a bearded face to me, may it be a Scythian artifact?

Sincerely

Size?

Do you plan to clean it up?

Not sure it is more than an abstract design.

I don't think Scythian but it is hard to be certain till we see the design more clearly.  My initial guess is a post-roman steppe nomadic people - Bulgar, Avar, Magyar, etc.

Thank you very much for your first reply.

Size: Only 2 cm

Location: south of Caucasian region

Far from the lands of European nomadic people. May it belong to Sassanid or Byzantineor Huns?

I don't recognize the style but Sassanian is a possibility worth exploring.
