Best way to photograph coins?
« on: November 16, 2018, 12:10:30 pm »
Hello all,

I was wondering what the best way to photograph a coin is? I know I should probably asking a photography forum about this, but scrolling through the gallery, I can see many amazingly detailed photos, so I thought I'd ask you! All of my coins are in plastic holders, which makes the coins look waaaay to shiny and with patches of light on them when I try to photograph them, so I can only upload pictures to my forvm gallery that I have uploaded from eBay or the site I bought them from. I am considering upgrading my album (that I store my coins in) to a stackable tray system (probably the lindner trays) to overcome this problem. But even so, I doubt I will get clear photos of my coins with the piddly little digital camera I have. What does everybody else use? Is there any way to photograph the coins without taking them out the holder without making them look like they are covered in cling film?

Thanks!

Have a nice day!
