Ebay and the art of archaeological forgery

Here's a terrific article by Charles Stanish (director of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology and a professor of anthropology at UCLA) on the problem of antiquities forgery.  Although he deals primarily with Central and South American items, his lessons learned can easily be applied to the ancient coin trade, particularly involving on-line auction sites.   This article appears in this month's edition of Archaeology (May/June 2009).
