Cicero doesn't actually show up on ancient Roman coins; if you'd post a better scan, preferably with the reverse, also preferably with weight and size, we could possibly help to ID this one.

Cicero minor actually does, but the "coin" shown above has nothing to do with it.

It looks like a modern fantasy token.

The portrait may be copied from the genuine Cicero Minor coin.

It's a modern fantasy token. I would tend to doubt that it is unique by definition.

Did M. Tullius Cicero junior, consul under Augustus and the only son of the famous orator, mint his coins? I didn't know that  ??? It could be only medallion, not coin.

Best,

Lydian bronze coinage from circa 30 BC exists which was struck by and with the portrait of the Proconsul M. Tullius Cicero the Younger, though it has been suggested that the portait is actually of his more famous father (this is generally in doubt, however; the portrait is likely of the son).

The piece shown at top and about which this thread is posted is not a coin nor even an ancient piece. It does depict the great Cicero but it is a modern item of exonumia dating from the Roman pride movement in Italian Fascism, circa 1930s, and not scarce.

I dont get the point though. Nobody here would keep something like this. They'd probably throw it away. If your convinced is that its rare or unique take it to a coin dealer who specialises in tokens and get his opinion.

Amy, I don't really see what you're asking or, at this point, why. I told you above what it is. It is modern, it would be interesting I suppose to some for what it is but it is not rare, not ancient, not something that this forum deals with with. It is a 20th century mass-produced Italian charm from the Fascist era which produced tens of thousands of such baubles as part of its propaganda efforts. To a collector of these sorts of things it may be worth $20 or $25. Really I think that is about all that can be said.

Cicero did in fact strike a few cistophoric tetradrachms in his own name when he was proconsul in Laodikeia in 51/50 BC, albeit without his portrait. They're quite rare; the last one to appear, so far as I know, was in Niggler 1 in 1965, lot 419.
