Trajan Decius Tet - Missing Part of Obv Legend
« on: May 23, 2014, 09:44:19 am »
Hi Everyone,

I have a Trajan Decius Antioch Tet and it looks the last part of the Obv legend was omitted or maybe worn die, what do you think? it reads AYT K G ME KY TPAIANOC DEKIOC and i'm sure it should have CEB at the end?. The coin weighs 10.56g & 26mm.

Cheers

There's clearly something at the end of the obv legend and there's room for the CEB.  I would say your idea of a clogged die is right on.
