Anyone understand Greek ?
helvetica:
The inscription in the following image is inscribed around the base of a bronze bowl. I can make out most of the letters but wonder whether anyone can tell me what it means ? I can see the word or name FILADELF.. but am unsure as to whether it refers to the city of that name, or simply a brother.
If anyone can translate any of it, it would be brilliant !
I have cut the legend image into lines to make it handier to view.

Dear Dane and Board,
Like doing crossword puzzles, no? My poke at the inscription gives me "...φίλα Δελφοῖς...," or "...dear citizens of Delphi...," which sounds too interesting to be true, but I hope that gets the ball rolling for you in any case. Also, on the last line you provided, I think "δηναρίων" could mean "tenfold"?
Best regards,

Aarmale:
Do you have larger images?
helvetica:
Not much larger, but clearer because they are not rotated/turned straight, as they are in the image above.
I just uploaded it to the catbikes website:

I DO wish I knew what MINNIC means (and the rest !!)
slokind:
Do you know where it was found, in case that might help to isolate proper names--if we knew which language group might be involved? Some inscribed objects from Thrace, in Greek, consist largely of names with patronymics and the name of a deity and a verb for dedication. If this were one of these...
