Procopius' right-facing bust....
(1/1)
Varangian:
I'm re-cataloguing my coins into Numus (new computer+corrupted backup=much work), and I noticed that the sole example of a right-facing bust of Procopius that I have, RIC IX Constantinople 19, appears to be a diademed and cuirassed bust F, not the diademed, draped and cuirassed bust A described in RIC.
The left facing busts are clearly draped and cuirassed, but the few examples of RIC 19 I could find on WW, CGB and Coin Archives all have the same, cuirassed-only-looking bust of my coin. I couldn't find any with a clearly draped-and-cuirassed bust.
Error in RIC?
