Hello I would like to identify this coin, I believe Roman, rather thick.

The diameter is 29 - 30 mm

The weight is 19.78 grams

The thickness is approximately 4 mm

Thanks for your help

I would also like to be able to remove this oxidation that covers many details, without obviously cleaning it.  Can you suggest me some remedies?

Thanks again

Thanks a lot  +++

I didn't expect that it's a R2 coin  ;D

Can you please recommend a remedy to be able to remove that oxidation so that the details can show themselves better? (without cleaning it, I mean)

I think I see a seam at the edge near the bottom of the reverse.  I doubt its authenticity.

The coin shows a soapy softness of detail and extreme porosity that points to it being a modern cast.

Thanks for the reply, btw next lamoneta forum and Numista forum they said that is genuine. I respect all the points of view, so, this it means that I have to go and have it examined by a numismatic expert, just to be sure. Regards.

Always a good idea.  Photos can be misleading.

Worn soapy details can be from casting or wear.

Porosity from casting, cleaning or corrosion.

Apparent seams from casting a fake, casting a flan or strange folds due to the strike.

But any red flags like this should be investigated, even if they can later be dismissed, as that is the only way to detect fakes.

Hi SC and folks,

I thought the same thing when I first looked at it, but I wasn't certain.

The thickness is also abnormal.
