A transfer die fake of RIC VII Ticinum 31 has previously been identified by Barry Murphy, and is present in the FORVM fakes database.

There's another specimen of same type, in the FORVM Gallery, which unfortunately appears to be from same transfer dies.

Images below are comparison of transfer die original host with gallery coin, diagnostic graphic by Barry, and a better image of the additional genuine comparison coin.

In addition to the depression above "S" in mintmark and bump in front of Roma's eye, there's a depression on the reverse rim at 3 o'clock, and some damage to the hair on the obverse that also appear to have been copied from original to transfer die.

Does anyone happen to recognize the transfer die host coin (B/W image) shown on Barry's graphic - where is it from?

Fortunately, it is on my page as a minor reverse variety (parazonium instead of short sceptre). Gorny & Mosch auction 121 (lot 499), March 2003.

Are they in the fake coin reports?  If not, please add a report.
