Joe Sermarini Retiring From the Navy
« on: September 13, 2007, 11:51:29 am »
As many of you know I am the owner of FORVM ANCIENT COINS.  I am also an active duty U.S. Navy Supply Corps Commander and Commander of Defense Distribution Depot Cherry Point, NC.

I would like to announce that I am retiring from the Navy after 21 years of service on 20 September.  FORVM should be better than ever after 20 September when I am able to dedicate myself to it full-time.

Thanks for your support and patience with me when the Navy occupied much of my time.  Hopefully your support will continue and allow me to make a living from the shop.  :)

Thanks,

Joe Sermarini (CDR, USN, retired)

Joe, welcome to civvy street  :)

If Forum is this good with most of your time taken up by the Navy, then with your undiluted focus on it, maybe world numismatic domination is achievable!

Good luck with it all

Hey Joe, I didn't know that (I mean your responsibility in the navy)! Anyway congratulations. Actually I'm a novice but I found here a very good place for exchanging our knowledge about the coins. I learned so many things here.

Better than ever? Man...that is some tall order! This place is great! Anyway...ex-Army (e-5 (P), no officer) here, I look back and wish I would have stuck out the 20, I would be a year from retirement (at age 37!!!!). Congrats and I am jealous!

The best of luck with your switch of career (rather than retirement which sounds like winding down) :)  I forsee you will be as busy as ever.

However, a long and honorable career in a demanding role is always something to be proud of.
