Umayyad or Abbasid Dirham
« on: September 21, 2021, 03:30:30 pm »
Hello,
I have what looks like a Umayyad or Abbasid Dirham Durham. I am absolutely unable to read or identify these.

It is silver, 2.6 grams, and approximately 27.5 mm in diameter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Islamic era dirham - late Umayyad or Abbasid - not Sassanian.

But very weird.  Ancient imitation?  Overstrike??

You are correct......Not Sassanian. I has been a long time since I have had one of these.
And authenticity was another one of my concerns.
