Title: Vespasian Saviour of the Nation COTD
Post by: David Atherton on July 16, 2019, 08:46:18 am
It's always a treat when a new acquisition takes you down many research rabbit holes. This is one such coin! https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-156618

Man, I'm a total sucker for sweet looking Sestertius examples ... curious, is the golden colour accurate, or is it a bit less golden in-hand?

Either way, that new addition is a fricken sweetheart (congrats David => keep-up the good work)

Cheers

It's not nearly as bright in hand. The patina has been cleaned off and what is left is basically the bare metal, albeit a bit toned.
