My new Shabti

All the way from Egypt via Dubai

ANCIENT EGYPT. 26TH DYNASTY. FAIENCE USHABTI. 600 - 300 B.C

FOR SAMEREF PRIEST "HOR UDJA", BORN OF "TA - SHERYT HPR BES".

The dealer had a number of these for sale and all but a few are sold. I think this was the best of the bunch. The little hands are just sticking out two hoes (no pick)  and a grain bag over shoulder. Hieroglyphs on the front and back column

Enjoy,
Timeo Danaos afferentem coronas

Very nice, I had several of these from the same dealer with demotic script in ink on the back.   Used for a research project, but now that it's over I sold them.
