Ptolemaic context
« on: December 12, 2012, 07:09:19 pm »
OK, a friend excavated this coin in a brick kiln in the Nile delta found with an Alexandrian  Trajan, Hadrian, and Ptolemy II.  The Isis Headdress is distinctive, and the shape is Ptolemaic. Any thoughts?

That might be a crown of Isis near the top of one side but doesn't appear to be a Ptolemaic coin.

The designs certainly do not match any Ptolemaic coins I recognize.  perhaps an Alexandrian tetradrachm, though a little small, or from another Hellenistic kingdom?

How about showing the coins found with this one?

Thanks

Think I have it:  Lead Bulla/Seal with Hathor and hero/god on mythical beast.
