Still working on it. I'm looking into the inscription at the moment. Somebody will eventually give you an answer.

The image on the obverse seems to have the inscription broken in two sections left and on the right: ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟC (St. Nicholas) possibly.

On the reverse It seems to write the following: CΟΡΕΤΙC (?)
                                                                            ΠΑΡΙCΤΑ
                                                                            ΤΟΝ ΤUΠΟ(Ν)
                                                                             ΤΙΝΟC   Ο   Ε

ΠΑΡΙCΤA ΤΟΝ ΤUΠΟΝ ΤΙΝΟC  is the part of the phrase that is clear(?). Roughly translated: "depicts/personates type of someone.?.?.?..." τινός is the genitive of the pronoun τίς (someone).

I'm not sure of a name on the seal, so I can't say for sure if it is an anonymous type. Based on my studies on other form of Byzantine art, it should date after the 10th century. Unfortunately lead seals were out of our curriculum and we did not study them. Iconography though can be compared to other contemporary forms of art. I also hope that I put together the reverse inscription correctly as possible. The first line puzzles me. I will write again if something else comes up.

After zooming in the picture more and playing with lighting, the first word on the reverse reads CΦΡΑΓΙC= seal. I can't believe my mind got stuck in reading it.
So we have: CΦΡΑΓΙC (?)
                  ΠΑΡΙCΤΑ
                  ΤΟΝ ΤUΠΟ(Ν)
                  ΤΙΝΟC   Θ Ε
                   Ο     U

Rough translation: Seal depicting/personating the type of (someone).....

Still can't make a name. ΘΕΟΛΟU?

Hope I helped in a way. This is a great seal in splendid condition. Thanks for sharing it. It was really fun and educational researching about it.

That's indeed a figure of St. Nicholas on the obverse. He is has both his hands raised in supplication, beneath the hand of God. I agree that the reverse starts 'sphragis' - possibly 'sphragisma' (sealing). I think a larger photo will possibly help with the reading of the rest of the legend. The date is probably 11th century.
