AE19 Antiochus VII Eros question

(1/1)

Gert:
Obv: Eros r.
Rev: BASILEOOS ANTIOCHOY EUERGETOY Headdress of Isis.

- Is my attribution of this lovely coin correct?
- Am I right the year (after E) is just off flan?
- Can somebody tell me the meaning of the monogram on the left?

best regards,
Gert

BC_Eric:
Hi Gert,

You are correct. Sear has a coin that looks very similar it is listed as #7098...

The E would be part of the date code. The one listed in Sear has a code of DOR The one he has listed doesnt have the monogram.

Hope that helps
Eric

slokind:
All his Eros coins are charming, but yours is the best struck and one of the best dies I have seen.

Gert:
I agree wholeheartedly about the charm. There are only a few coins that really are 'lovely'. This is one of the coins 'i'll never part with'.

Best regards,
Gert
