Artifacts

Sorry if this is off topic, or been asked before.

Can anyone recommend a book on Roman or Ancient Artifacts?  Rings, fibula's, belt and horse decorations etc?

I'm starting to get more interested in what is found along side all our coins, but I'm short of a simple reference book.

Many thanks,

Dave

Hello,

I'd highly recommend Alex Malloy's The Official Guide to Artifacts of Ancient Civilizations .   It's pretty inexpensive around $20 and a great place to start.

Thank you.

Have a look at the books on this website. They cover just about everything that could be found in Britain and more. I can particularly recommend Adrian Marsden's book on Roman Coins. You can see a review of this on my website.
