I mean the big R is pretty telling, but I hoped it to be real.

Yes--reproduction.   Style alone would show that.  What is the weight?

I would assume the "R" on the obverse represent Reproduction.

I have seen a coin with an R banker's mark but MANY MANY more with an R indicating reproduction. Yes, this R is a mark indicating reproduction.

How about those "R"s for a bankers mark? One of prized coins. I love it.

Yes, bankers' marks on second coin.  A real rarity!
