Constantine gets his finger back.
« on: May 02, 2021, 07:04:39 am »

The huge statue of Constantine the Great at Capitoline Museums in Rome has been reunited with its missing finger after centuries. The 38cm-long bronze index finger, miss identified as a toe for some time at Louvre in Paris, was recognized as a part of a finger in 2018. It has now been reattached to the remaining hand of the statue.

A couple of days ago the Capitoline Museum web site had a related picture with an Instagram link which may have had a picture of the hand with reattached finger. I don't have an Instagram account, so the link didn't work for me.

Perhaps someone who has Instagram could see if they did post a picture of it:

How could you mistake that as a toe?  Who is curating this exhibit?  Mr. Magoo?
