It has an overall softness that may indicate this is a modern cast.

Certainly a modern fake.
I was offered handfuls of these at the site of Ephesus the last time I was there.
I actually bought one for fun, after about 45 minutes of them nagging me and me
haggling the price down to something reasonable (€5), as I own an original.
They had various metals, a few base-metals and even a silvery coloured one, and
different qualities as well. Its as if they copied the copies, and so on ad infinitum!
Plenty more where that came from!
