Printing a gallery
« on: October 23, 2025, 11:58:31 pm »
Can anyone suggest a process for printing the contents of their gallery?

I used to be able to simply click and drag my mouse to highlight the pages' contents and then copy/paste it into a Word document.  Now, when I follow the exact same process, the text copies fine but not the images.

I do this to carry a copy of all my coins with me to shows so when I'm looking at a coin at a dealer's table, I can see if I already have that type.  I'm leaving for Baltimore in less than two weeks and wanted to prepare all my files to take with me.  My old process worked last October/November, but not now.

Anyone have any suggestions?

When I go to shows I just have my gallery open on my phone or tablet.  Everything is ordered by RIC number to make it easy to check what I'm missing.  Is that not an option for you?

It's certainly an option, but not one I'm thrilled about.  Call me "old school"....I like to hold a paper or book in my hands.  I have had dealers ask to see my galley printouts, and I have always pointed them to FORVM.

Hi Craig

You can still do it, but you will have to copy each image link separately and then paste it into the appropriate place. A bit tedious but it is all I can suggest.  :-\

I actually started doing that but with in excess of 200 coins to print, it will be just too tedious, so I stopped.

I have software that came with my printer that allows me to print thumbnails at various sizes.  I'll probably just do that.  Unfortunately all it includes is the file name...none of the details....but I guess it will have to do unless anyone else can recommend a better solution.

Thanks!

If you are using Chrome on your laptop, go to your gallery and select a folder.

On the top right hand corner click the three dots.

Go down to Print and click.

When the dialog box opens up you will see a box with Destination.  Click Save as PDF.

Choose where you want the file saved.

When you open the file you will have all your coins on that page which you can then print.

Repeat for each additional page.

If you have an android tablet using Chrome

Go to your gallery and select a folder

On the top right corner click the three dots

Select "Share"

Select "Long Screen Shot" and adjust what you want to copy

Save

You can then print the saved file

Did it not work for you?  I could do it for you and send you the files if you like.

Actually I had already tried the PDF option.  Yes, it technically works, but it's still not what I was used to so I'll probably just print out the thumbnails.

@Joe / Sorin, et al.....Was there a change made to the gallery hosting software that would have taken away the straight copy of an image and replace it with a link to the image?

Hi Craig

I think that I have found something that works the way that you were used to.

First I saved the page I wanted to copy from as a web psge complete and then just clicked and dragged the mouse from that, not the original online page. It copied text and thumbnails no problem.

There hasn't been a change to the gallery. The changes are to browsers.

Thank Alex!!!  That worked just as it did previously.
