Shortage of Distilled Water
« on: December 31, 2022, 05:15:01 pm »
I am in southeast US. I just went to two drug stores and two grocery stores and a Dollar General. No one had distilled water. The guy at Dollar General said it was hard to get now. I have never had this problem and am completely out of it. I will try a few more places tomorrow or Monday, but I thought it an odd item to be in shortage. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, since COVID.  I need it for a CPAP machine.

Oh man, that is more important than coin soaking, hope you can find it.

It just means the machine will accumulate build-up and die faster—no big deal unless you do it all the time.

I use a counter top distiller like the one in the attached picture. It makes a gallon at a time over a few hours. Very convenient :-D I use it for my drinking water as well as I prefer the taste. Search for "Megahome Countertop Water Distiller Stainless, Glass Collection".

That is very cool, didn't know such a device existed. I did finally find some at Walmart, a store I rarely go to, but I figured I would give it a try. Will look into that device. Thanks.

Depending on how hard / minerally your water is, regular tap water is often good enough.

Or you can save the DW for the last soaking.
