A Flurry of Flavians
« on: December 12, 2020, 02:12:56 am »
Hello all!

November and December have been very busy months at Flavian Fanatic headquarters, so I haven't had the proper time to post newly acquired coins regularly. With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to post a few recent additions of some note.

First up, Titus Caesar Judaea Capta sestertius. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166151

The second coin is a Vespasian 'Honos and Virtus' sestertius. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166445

And now a neat Domitian sestertius: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166535

Next: A lovely Titus Caesar Judaean with a phenomenal portrait. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166590

Here is an often overlooked 'Germania Capta' type. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166696

Next up is a Domitian dupondius with an interesting reverse. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166703

And here is a Domitian Caesar 'Thracian' sestertius. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166784

Here is a Titus Caesar PROVIDENT altar type. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166802

A 'pious' Domitian sestertius. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166876

And finally, a Domitian Caesar As from Lugdunum. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166942

Thank you for looking!

NB: This is the latest coin added to the gallery, IMHO, of some note as well. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-166958

Thanks for showing, nice group collection...might have bought them as a lot.
My favorite is the Ae As of Titus....nice color and surface, style and background story.
You provide us with some eye coin candy and knowledge

As always your eye for the rarities serves you well.  Congrats David.  Your Flavian collection is a reference for many of us.

Hi DA,

Nice coins! :)

I especially like the Titus/altar coin.
