Title: oval plaque ibex
Post by: a on December 31, 2022, 04:57:57 pm
Hi,
This seal is made of white material, most probably not stealite. The second side is flat. There is a channel inside. The size is 20x15x4mm.
The hoat/ibex is the central figure, in front of it two figures. One is looking like mount or hill, the second is uncertain. On the back side of the animal another unknown figure (letter?).
I believe this is scaraboid manufactured in 8-9 centuries BC, but can't find identical motifs on the web.

Any additional information about this item will be very appreciated.

Regards,

After research on the web I realized that the right name for this item is "oval plaque". Modified the subject accordingly and added few more pictures.
