Uncertain id on TROAS? AE16
« on: January 25, 2022, 10:01:59 am »
Help please with this, to my eye, unusual coin,
This looks like a TROAS AE16.
Obv. Helmeted head of Apollo? Right. Rev. Horse grazing right, monogram below and ΩEΛ above. Noticeably thick at 4.7mm.
5.4gr, 15.4-16.0mm, 4.7mm thick & axis 12hr
The head Apollo may be helmeted and there may by another monogram between the rear legs and perhaps palm before?
A full id would be appreciated.
Thanks

Reverse reads:  :Greek_Pi: :Greek_epsilon: :Greek_Lambda:

So you should look for Pella: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=8664905
