Athena on 1 side Angel on the other side
« on: May 15, 2016, 03:01:32 pm »
my father found this Ring that has a Ancient Coin inside of the ring

1 side looks to be Athena with helmet

the opposite side is a Angel with 2 wings standing tall Holding a Spear in 1 hand.

There is Writing on the side with the Angel which looks to say AAEEAN0POY

It's not an ancient coin but a modern piece of jewelry. The legend means 'of Alexander'. This is the genuine coin type that inspired your ring:

(Back up your accusations of it being a Modern coin inside a ring )   hahah

What makes you think this  coin is a Fake ??

it is a Coin inside a ring ....it is Not a Ring with a Picture on the front of the ring

there is a Coin Inlayed inside a Silver 925 Ring

Heavy silver ring with a Coin inlayed into the middle of it

what makes you think its a Fake coin inside this Real sterling silver ring band ?

the Ring is Modern yes....but the coin looks really old that's inside the ring

It is indeed a modern fake. The art style is ridiculous compared to what the ancient die cutters made.
Don't laugh at an expert like areich.

thanks =)

good to know what it is at least ....

just weird how they would Insert a Fake into a nice heavy band

found it in a rich part of town also hahahaha

thanks for helping me solve the puzzle

the ring is 2 pieces not 1 piece...the Band....and the Coin  2 peices

Originals of that type are always gold.

The one in your ring looks to be silver: and for that reason alone cannot be ancient.
