Cross in wreath. Hilderic?
« on: June 08, 2006, 02:56:27 am »
I posted this coin in the identification help section but experts were in difficulty with its attribution.
Occasionally, I came acrross the  Forum article:
TWO CENTURIES IN CARTHAGE - A STORY TOLD BY COINS
in    https://www.forumancientcoins.com/forvm/Collectors_Resources.html

and  found an example of a vandal coin which seems to be stylistically close to my specimen:
3597. Bronze nummus, H 21, Grierson/Blackburn 24-5, gVF, .59g, 8.9mm, 180°, Carthage mint, 523-530 A.D.; obverse diademed head right; reverse cross in wreath.

Could you, please,  comment on this.

Looks like Childeric 21/2 nummia. Reference:MIB, 21.
I presume that your coin has a normal size and weight for this type.
