Uniface Lead Seal with Block Monogram from Caesarea Maritima #1
(1/1)
v-drome:
Hi, all. Here is the first of two unusual seals with 6th-7th century Byzantine style monograms, but one sided like one might expect of the earlier Roman type seals. The channels seem quite thick, as thought they were used with a thicker kind of cord. I am still looking for matches in my limited database of monograms and Greek names. Any information on date, possible readings, and use would be appreciated. Thanks, Jimi
